5000 CCTV CAMERAS TO BE INSTALLED IN HYDERABAD:

Considering the safety measures of public  , Hyderabad police planned to install 5000 CCTV cameras at all public places and main junctions in the city. Under the Act of AP Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement and Safe City project this step is being implemented. Andhra Pradesh DGP V Dinesh Reddy told reporters that it is mandatory to install the CCTV cameras with regards to the recurring incidents of terror attack in the city. He said 100 or more people are expected at a time, to provide access controls and install closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras.
The centre has approved Megacity policing plan covering the commisionerates of certain metropolitan cities. Hyderabad was included in the plan for which a central allocation of Rs 48.10 crore has been earmarked for 2013-14 and 2014-15.The project report for this plan is being planned under the guidelines of safe city project, such as CCTV surveillance, command control centers, Dial 100, data centre, highway patrol cars, aerial surveillance, community policing, training of soft skills etc.
Thus a network of CCTVs will now keep an eye on Hyderabad, which has seen at least three major bomb blasts over the past six years and repeated communal clashes.
